The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu
Secretariat
Chennai - 9.

Respected Madam,

    Greetings from our Association.

We crave the kind permission of the Hon'ble Chief Minister to submit the following few lines for the kind and sympathetic consideration and favorable orders.

At the outset Tamilnadu Civil Services Association and the Tamilnadu Retired Revenue Officers' Association record their heart full thanks to the Hon'ble Chief Minister for

i. Having appointed a District Revenue Officer as the Member Secretary for the newly formed Tamilnadu Medical Services Recruitment Board.

ii.  Having announced in the Assembly itself that report on the enquiry commission of Police Firing at Paramakudi would be quickened when District Revenue Officer is appointed to hold enquiry and

2

iii.    Having ordered that distribution of mixie, grinder, Fan and all other welfare measures would be implemented by the Revenue Department.

    3. While the Hon'ble Chief Minister is of very high opinion and trust on the Revenue Department, during the last ministry (and the lost ministry) under the pretext of implementing the Central Pay Scales, much atrocities have taken place. The entire Revenue Department was omitted in the Government orders. While the entire life of the Revenue Department lies in it gradation of various posts (which is the British legacy) to deliver goods to the public. The previous Government have fixed a uniform pay of Rs.15,600/- to the Tahsildars, Deputy Collectors and District Revenue Officers. They have owe fully erred in upgrading the pay of other Department Officers, having lesser powers and duties of District Revenue Officers to Rs.37,400/-. Copies of the Memorandum with other annexure enclosed would reveal the reasonable aspects of our request, which culminate in the request for fixation of pay of Rs.37,400/-, 25,500/- and Rs.15,600/- to the District Revenue Officers, Deputy Collectors and Tahsildars respectively.

    4. We request to be excused for disturbance to the Hon'ble Chief Minister, who is in the midst of introducing unprecedental, history and welfare oriented measures to the public, which are of universal emulation.

    5. We are very confident that such disparities in pay structure was not brought to the kind notice of the Hon'ble Chief Minister and that we would get justice so soon for which act of kindness and Justice our Associations would ever remain grateful.

                                                           Yours Faithfully
